"Hidden Away" by Josh Groban is perfect for piano or guitar or both! It's a ballad, so it's slow and pretty easy to play. I heard it on the radio and then learned how to play it on guitar. But the piano would sound just as beautiful. It's just been easier to pick up a guitar noadays with toddler Bel running around. I just capo it at V for a female voice.

Hope you are enjoying your summer and had a nice 4th of July. This year we decided to do something other than sit at home, so we went to watch a parade. It was mostly for the benefit of Baby Bel. I knew she would enjoy the marching band, so we drove 1-1/2 hours and stood there and waited for about that same amount of time.

But she did enjoy the band and the parade very much. She danced to the music, grabbed the candy that was thrown, and even now still loves watching the videos we took of the marching band.

Made me remember the days when I was in marching band. There really is nothing like it. It is fun for the whole family to watch. I loved marching to the drum beats.

My mom came over today and played the new song she is learning on piano, The Rose (performed by Bette Midler). It's a simple song to learn, but a very beautiful favorite.
