A good guitar strap is an important accessory for a guitar player. You'll need one for performance as well as for practice. Choose from a variety of designs.
Tip: It's important to practice standing up with your guitar strap on so that you can get used to the weight of your guitar when preparing to play in public. A surprise shoulder ache will put a damper on your performance. Standing also does wonders for your vocal quality.

Every guitar player needs a guitar tuner because it's best practice, especially if you are playing with others, to be in tune. This is our favorite selection of guitar tuners. Be sure to carry your guitar tuner when you go out to rehearsal! Don't embarrass yourself by playing or performing out of tune. Do yourself a favor and use a guitar tuner before you play a single chord or riff.

Use a guitar capo to change the key of the song to a higher key. Many professional artists use this in recording. So, you'll need it to play in the same key as their music. Move the capo up each fret until you find a key that works for you. Most guitar tabs have a fret number to designate where to place the capo. (e.g. Capo 4 means to place the capo over the 4th guitar fret.) Guitar capos make a great gift for your favorite guitarist!

Don't let your guitar lean against the wall or risk getting knocked over by a child or pet. My dog used to try to play the guitar with his tail. Luckily I had it on a guitar stand. Choose from our favorite guitar stands shown here. These Wooden guitar stands and hanging guitar stands make great gifts for your favorite guitarist! Or if you have a collection, get some guitar wall hangers to display your guitars. ~ Joey

Playing in my high school orchestra was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my high school years. It brought me to a new level of appreciation of classical music. Now, I still enjoy listening to the pizzicato of the violins and the sweet melodies of the cellos. Here is my selection of a few of these beautiful instruments. -- Joey
